The Z-keys Pro auxiliary keyboard works with a standard keyboard. Special internal circuitry controls automatic switching, transparent to the user, between the Z-keys and the main keyboard. The Z-keys can also be a standalone bootable keyboard for applications that do not need a regular keyboard. The Z-keys supports two layers of multiple key commands which are accessed by pressing a toggle or shift key to use the second set of commands. The hardware-based programming is simple and is stored in an EEPROM so no special drivers or TSR programs are needed. To program the unit, slide the switch to the programming position, tap the key to be programmed on the Z-keys and type the desired keys on the main keyboard. The Z-keys Pro (PS/2) works with a standard PC keyboard port. A USB version is also available that is USB PC and USB Mac compatible.
