Installation Notes for Contour Perfit Mouse Windows 9x Driver (Release Date: 10/29/99) Please note that you must remove any other aftermarket mouse drivers before installing the Contour Drivers. This includes all older Contour mouse drivers as well. To do this: - Click Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs - Look for any reference to Microsoft Intellipoint, Logitech Mouseware, Toshiba Accupoint, or any other mouse driver software. If you see one, un-install it before running our SETUP program. - You should also check your Mouse Control Panel to make sure you are configured for a Microsoft PS2/Serial port mouse. - In Win95, go to the Control Panels, and load the Mouse control panel you should see 4 tab pages (Buttons, Pointers, Motion, and General) Choose the General tab.If it does not Say "Microsoft PS2 port mouse", choose Change and select "Show All Devices" and choose "Microsoft" on the left ad "Microsoft Ps2 port mouse" on the right. Click OK, and Close. Your system will restart. You can then proceed to install the new driver. - In Win98, go the the System Control Panel, click on "Device Manager" Look down the list for "Mouse", click on it to expand it. It should say "Microsoft PS2 port mouse". If it does not, click on the Driver tab, choose "Update Driver" and hit "Next" Then choose the option "Display a list of all drivers...". Choose "Show all Hardware" You should then go the the Microsoft option and choose the "Microsoft PS2 port mouse". Hit Next and follow the prompts. After the system restarts you can go to the next step. Run Setup from the "ContourSetup" Directory. - Select the device you are using (device on ps/2(serial) port)) then click next - Select the mouse you are using left or right handed contour mouse. then click next - A new screen with 5 tabs shows up. This is where you define your mouse parameters. - Buttons is the Tab that is in front. Double click speed is also on this page. - Motion Tab will let you select cursor speed and acceleration. - Pointers Tab will let you select your pointer scheme. - Actions Tab is how you define your mouse's middle button or use the chording feature of this driver. To add a new action press assign. Select the button you wish to assign a new action to, select the function you wish the button to perform, then click the assign action. It will bring you back to the main tabs page. Click Apply. - If you select Swift Scroll for your middle button. The Scrolling tab will let you see how the scroller works. - Clicking next will bring you to the Customize Applications Menu. This will let you setup application sensitivity. It is similar to the actions tab, when you assign a function to an application the function will only operate in that particular application. - Clicking next will bring you to the About the Driver page and also will give you information on how to use two mice at the same time. - Clicking finish will end the driver install. - You can always access the driver from the Control Panel or the System Tray next to the clock just double-click the Mouse icon and it will walk you through the steps above again. 10/08/99 - Initial Release 10/29/99 - Various Bug updates including memory leak problems when using a non- Standard mouse pointer scheme.
